Rockfall Protection at the Castle of Monemvasia
Our company undertook the iconic rock stabilization project on the unique natural and cultural heritage rock of the medieval castle town of Monemvasia.
The work, carried out over a 1,500-meter-long and 70-meter-high rock face with no ground access, included:
- Installation of a 500-meter-long Maccaferri rockfall barrier system with a maximum rock impact capacity of 3,000 kJ
- Installation of 100 m² of anchored mesh
The project required close collaboration between our rope access technicians and a Rotors Air Business helicopter due to the verticality of the rock face and the complete lack of access.
